DOE.news, a sister site to DOE.jobs, integrates DOE's subcontractor community with DOE's federal news within the subcontractor community, creating a holistic approach to DOE's hybrid federal-contractor relationship.

The DOE was designed to carry out its essential mission primarily through its prime contractors. Therefore, the agency’s communication doesn’t capture the complete story of DOE’s great progress as a cohesive organization as its contractors are decentralized. Uniquely, the overall DOE organization is the conglomeration of the federal agency and us—the contractors and subcontractors.

Therefore, as DOE.news launches, we encourage contractors and subcontractors to share their news and achievements to keep this decentralized community current. This integrator approach is the same as us use with DOE.jobs, which brings contractor and subcontractor jobs right beside DOE's prime contractor jobs. 

As Talmon Larmee with Pro2Serve said, our sites are similar to the traffic app Waze in that they need user engagement to provide great data and help each other as the site continues to grow and improve.
